Safe Motherhood
The “Safe Motherhood” project aims to provide comprehensive healthcare for 100 pregnant women in Makkah Region: prenatal check-ups, awareness of the importance of pregnancy care, psychological and social support for expectant mothers, periodic medical screening for early detection of complications, referring complex cases to specialists, providing medications and supplies, and following up on mother and child health after delivery.
Strategic Objective
Contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality and empowering all women and girls).
Detailed Objectives
- Increasing the proportion of pregnant women who undergo prenatal check-ups.
- Improving mothers’ awareness of the importance of pregnancy care.
- Providing psychological and social support to 100 pregnant women.
- Referring at least 10 complex cases to specialists.
- Following up on the health of 100 mothers and children after delivery.

- Many pregnant women lack comprehensive healthcare, putting them and their children at risk.
Project Team
A project manager, a gynecologist, a pediatrician, a nurse, a nutrition specialist, and a mental health specialist.
Support Needed
Covers the salaries of physicians, nurses, and nutritionists, medications and medical supplies, awareness materials, and transportation. In-kind support includes medical equipment and health-center furnishings.
